OUR VALUES

Worship - It’s All About Jesus

We are unwavering in our belief that everything begins and ends with Jesus. Our commitment is to know Him and make Him known.  Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." - John 14:6 NLT . “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” - Revelation 22:13

Value - Everyone is Significant

Wherever you are from, whatever your age or background, you are far from ordinary. We value everyone and believe in your potential.  “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it!”- Psalm 139:14

“Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But, we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as He really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as He is pure.” - 1 John 3:2-3

Faith - All Things Are Possible

We believe in putting God-sized dreams into real-life action. We are right at home in deep uncharted waters, where prayer guides and faith sustains us.

“With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” - Matt 19:26

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” - Hebrews 11:6

We have learned that God is not…never has been…looking for what is “humanly possible.”

With that kind of potential…we aggressively seek after everything we can understand to enjoy the benefits of this amazing principle in God’s kingdom!

Community - Together is Better

Authentic life-change happens in the context of relationships.  Christianity will NEVER work going solo.  “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And, let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” - Hebrews 10:24-25

“He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” - Ephesians 4:16

Discipleship - Healthy People Grow

We celebrate the processes that build healthy people and healthy ministries. We are a life-giving church that embraces change and facilitates growth.

“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” - Colossians 2:7

“Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.” -  Colossians 1:10

Service - Saved People Serve People

Life is more fulfilling when serving others. Our focus starts with our church, extends to our community and reaches the nations. It's the natural progression of a changed life.

“And, He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’”
- Mark 16:15

“For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” - Ephesians 2:10

Excellence - If it’s Worth Doing, it’s Worth Doing it Right

The only appropriate response to a God who gave us His best is to give Him our best. Our dedication to God shows in all we do. Mediocrity is not an option.

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” - Colossians 3:23

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” - 1 Corinthians 15:58

Generosity - Generosity Speaks

The time, talent and treasure God has blessed us with is to be used to bless others. Living a generous life expands our world view and motivates us to be like Jesus.

“The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.”
- Proverbs 11:24-25 MSG

“And, I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” - Acts 20:35

Teamwork – God’s Best is working with others!

Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively. If one of them falls down, the other can help him up. But if someone is alone and falls, it’s just too bad, because there is no one to help him. If it is cold, two can sleep together and stay warm, but how can you keep warm by yourself Two people can resist an attack that would defeat one person alone. A rope made of three cords is hard to break. - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Training Leaders – It’s about multiplication!

There is a leader in you waiting to be trained to fulfill your God given potential so that we can make a difference in other people’s lives.  We are where we are today because of the process Jesus began with the 12 disciples.

“When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He told them: Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them. So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.” - Luke 9:1-6

Why You Can Trust Us

Believers who invest their hearts, time, families, and finances in the local church deserve to have confidence in church leadership.  People are looking for leaders who conduct themselves with integrity and respect when making decisions that affect their lives. We are constantly working to earn your trust! The following is our structure of accountability to ensure the protection of the partners of IFC.

Partnership Through Giving

At GHCC, we practice tithing for the support of the local church. The giving of tithes and offerings is worship to Jesus Christ and is an expression of the relationship between the individual giver and the Lord. We recognize that giving 10% of our income is the Biblical standard of giving.

We encourage you to read “Locking Arms for the Harvest—The Power of Partnership” by Mark Brazee. As you commit yourself to partner with GHCC through the giving of your tithes and offerings, we want you to fully understand the financial blessing that is released into your life when you partner with this ministry. God’s plan to spread the gospel is through the local church. In fact, a percentage of the tithes and offerings that GHCC partners give is sown into ministries other than ourselves including world missions.

Commitment to Our GHCC Partners

Partnership establishes a relationship between you and your pastor and the other partners of Goffstown Harvest Christian Church. Partnership benefits you in the following ways:

  • It identifies you as a partner of Goffstown Harvest Christian Church. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

  • It provides accountability in your life. (Hebrews 13:17)

Partners agree with our statement of beliefs, submit to the spiritual leadership of our Pastors, and support the mission of IFC through their prayers and giving.

The Pastoral Staff provides you and your family short-term, biblical counseling, marital and pre-marital counseling, hospital visitation, weddings, funerals, baby dedications, and water baptism. For more information, contact Robyn Johnsick at the Office…603-641-5993.

If you plan to withdraw your partnership, please inform us of your intention. We do reserve the right to rescind a person’s partnership status for the following reasons: causing strife with others and absence longer than two months. Fortunately, this has been a very rare situation for us.

Partnership Covenant

Having received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and being in agreement with the mission of Goffstown Harvest Christian Church, I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to partner with the GHCC family. In doing so, I commit myself to God, the leadership and to the partners of GHCC.

I will protect the unity of my church:

  • By acting in love toward other members

  • By refusing to gossip

  • By following the leaders

I will share the responsibility of my church:

  • By praying for its growth

  • By inviting the un-churched to attend

  • By warmly welcoming those who visit

I will serve the ministry of my church:

  • By discovering my gifts and talents

  • By being equipped to serve alongside my pastors

  • By developing a servant’s heart

I will support the testimony of my church:

  • By attending church faithfully

  • By living a godly life

  • By giving regularly

Partnership Covenant

GHCC accepts the Bible as the inspired and revealed word of God and adopts these statements as fundamental truths and doctrine:

Trinity

We believe in one, triune God revealed as the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and Holy Spirit. All are co-equal and co-eternal. - Matthew 28:20

Jesus is the Son of God

We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God who became a man anointed by the Holy Spirit to redeem mankind. He was crucified and buried, then resurrected from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. - Luke 4:18; Mark 16:19

Salvation is for Everyone

We believe all men have sinned and are in need of salvation, which has been provided through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift from God that can only be obtained by repentance from one's own dead works and by faith towards God. - Romans 3:23

Water Baptism

We believe in the Lord's ordinance of Water Baptism as a confirmation of the believer's salvation experience in Christ and communion as a remembrance and celebration of the Lord's death.
- Romans 6:3-4; 1Peter 3:21

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in accordance to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ for the empowerment of Christian service, the bestowal of gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of salvation and is evidenced by the speaking with other tongues. - Matthew 28:19

The Great Commission

We believe in the Great Commission to preach the Gospel in all the world and the laying on of hands to heal the sick and deliver the oppressed. - Matthew 9:35; Mark 16:17-18

God is Good

We believe in the goodness of God, who redeems men from sin, sickness and disease, and poverty and tragedy. Believers are made righteous by the blood of Christ and have the promise of divine healing, health and long life. Abundance and success in every area of life have also been provided for by Christ's work on the cross. - Colossians 13; 1 Peter 2:24

Marriage

We believe in the institution of marriage. Strong marriages make strong families, strong families make for strong churches, communities and ultimately a strong nation. Marriage is a divine covenant between a man and a woman from which children are nurtured and trained to become leaders of the next generation. Strong families are the building block of our society, the hope for future generations. We believe in passing on a legacy of faith to our children by a thorough grounding of God’s Word.
- Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33; Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Ephesians 6:1-4

Return of the Lord

We believe in the visible and imminent return of the Lord Jesus, His millennial reign on the earth, and the resurrection of the saved to everlasting life and the lost to eternal damnation. - 1 John 3:1-3; Revelations 20:11,12
